Recognition of Prior Academic Study
The University of Auckland accepts applications from students who wish to transfer from other tertiary institutions. If you are a New Zealand or Australian citizen or permanent resident and have studied at another tertiary institution in New Zealand or overseas, we will need to assess your results to determine your eligibility for admission to The University of Auckland.
At the time of application, you may also apply for credit for courses completed elsewhere.
Note: External transferring applicants, who have been granted admission to The University of Auckland based on complete or incomplete degree level study at another university in New Zealand, are assigned a Grade Point Equivalent (GPE), which is calculated by assessing the most recent year of fulltime study (or equivalent).
If you have studied at secondary level overseas, you may need to have your study assessed and you should contact the Student Information Centre.
