Bachelor of Commerce (BCom)
The Bachelor of Commerce is a broad-based and flexible degree. It prepares graduates for a variety of employment opportunities in business and for postgraduate study. BCom enables students to combine two specialisations and graduate with a double major.
Transfer and entry with a completed MIT diploma
If you have a completed MIT diploma (Level 6 or 7) you may:
- Apply and gain entry with up to 120 points of credit towards the BCom (if you have passed courses with a B grade average).
- Be considered for entry but will not be eligible for credit (if you have passed courses with less than a B grade average). List of MIT diplomas.
Entry with a partially completed MIT diploma
If you have a partially completed MIT diploma (Level 6 or 7) and a B grade average for passed courses, you will be considered for entry to the BCom. List of MIT diplomas.
Transfer with a partially completed MIT degree qualification
To transfer from MIT and complete the BCom at the University you must:

Be currently enrolled in one of the following:
- MIT Bachlor of Business inlcuding Accounting Major, Marketing Major, and Management Specialisations.
- MIT Bachelor of Information Systems.
- Have completed up to 240 points from MIT courses; you must complete at least 120 points at the University and this must include the Stage III (level 7) courses in your major.
- Have passed MIT courses with an average grade of B+ or higher.

The BCom consists of 360 points, including 105 points from seven Core Courses (Part I) and 255 points from a range of 200 and 300-level courses, majors requirements and approved General Education courses (Part II). If you are a full-time student, the degree can be completed in three years. Part-time study options are also available.
The charts below wil help you determine which MIT courses you can credit towards the University degree. Once you have established the courses, you are encouraged to discuss your programme plan with an adviser.
