Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) (BE(Hons))
The Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at the University offers a broad range of specialisations, from the traditional - civil and electrical engineering - to the innovative - biomedical and mechatronic engineering. There are three main pathways into the BE(Hons) for MIT students.
MIT Bachelor of Engineering
If you complete the first year of the MIT Bachelor of Engineering or MIT Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) with at least a B average (Grade Point Equivalent of 5 or higher), you can apply for admission with credit to the BE(Hons) at the University. You may be credited 120 points and enter Part II of the BE(Hons).
MIT Diplomas in Engineering
You can apply for admission to the BE(Hons) if you have completed a Diploma in Engineering at MIT. You may be credited 120 points for Part I and enter Part II of the BE(Hons). List of MIT diplomas.
MIT Certificate in Pre-Degree Studies (Engineering)
You may be admitted to the first year of the BE(Hons) if you have completed the MIT Certificate in Pre-Degree Studies (Engineering) with at least a B average. MIT Certificate in Pre-Degree Studies (Engineering).

The degree consists of 480 points and a set number of hours of practical experience:

Students who achieve a sufficiently high GPA graduate with an honours degree. Those who successfully complete the programme but who do not gain honours, graduate with a Bachelor of Engineering.
