Auckland Abroad Special Grant

The University of Auckland provides additional funding for exchange students studying at targeted exchange universities. Every year the target universities change.

2012/13

Semester Two 2012 or Semester One 2013:

• National Taiwan University, Taiwan
• Stockholm University, Sweden
• University of Exeter, UK
• University of Oslo, Norway
• University of Texas at Arlington, USA

If you are accepted by one of these institutions for an exchange, you can receive $1000 in addition to the Auckland Abroad Exchange Travel Award. There will be two rounds of selection: Semester Two 2012 and Semester One 2013. Every student who meets the eligiblity for this award will be granted one.

• Candidates must have been accepted as exchange students (for one or two semesters) by one of the targeted exchange universities for the semester of application.   
  • Semester Two 2012 or Semester One 2013:
    • National Taiwan University
    • Stockholm University
    • University of Exeter
    • University of Oslo
    • University of Texas
       
• Candidates must be enrolled full-time at The University of Auckland.
• The Scholarships are tenable by students who are New Zealand citizens, permanent residents of New Zealand or international students.
• The basis of selection will be demonstrated academic merit (a minimum GPA of B in the two most recent semesters of study) and the student's suitability as a representative of The University of Auckland.
• Candidates must apply for the Auckland Abroad Exchange Travel Award to be considered

Eligible students will be automatically considered for the Auckland Abroad Special Grant with their application for the Auckland Abroad Exchange Travel Award.

If you have been awarded a Special Grant in a previous round and deferred your exchange, you will need to reapply to be reconsidered in the next round. Students are only eligible to receive the special grant once and will not be considered if they are accepted for a second exchange period.
