The programme is open to all doctoral students, and we strongly encourage you to do it.
Using the booking system
You must be a currently enrolled doctoral student with an active ID card in order to use the booking system. If you need help, email doctoralskills@auckland.ac.nz.
Induction day
- Compulsory for newly-enrolled doctoral students.
- An excellent introduction to resources.
- Allows you to compare research, writing and study experiences with other doctoral students.
Core courses
Cover key aspects of doctoral study, professional development and employability.
Additional courses
Allow you to explore your specific interests or needs.
Consultations
One-on-one consultations with staff.
The Doctoral Skills Programme is designed for you and your supervisors.
When you begin doctoral study, talk to your supervisors about:
- Your academic strengths in relation to doctoral research.
- Your professional goals.
- Your career goals.
This discussion will help you choose courses in the Doctoral Skills Programme.
You can have this discussion with your supervisors annually.
