Special examination conditions

Find out about the circumstances under which you can sit your exam under special conditions.

Temporary or permanent disabilities or conditions

If you have a temporary or permanent disability or condition that affects your ability to sit examinations under the prescribed conditions, you may apply to sit examinations under special conditions, which take account of the particular impairment.

For example, someone who has injured a writing hand or arm may be supplied with a writer (amanuensis).

How to apply for special examination conditions

If you require special examination conditions, you must apply as soon as possible to University Health Services or Student Learning, where your requirements will be assessed. If special conditions are recommended, you must take the recommendation form straight to your relevant Examinations Office for processing.

Please note that special arrangements and supervision are organised for your particular circumstances. If you are not intending or are unable to sit your exam under these special conditions you must inform the Student Information Centre or the Examinations Office in advance, as early as possible.

If you also require special conditions for tests, the Examinations Office will give you copies of your special conditions form to provide to the relevant departments.
