The Award was established in 1998 by Orion Health to encourage excellence in Information Technology and Computer Science.
For a student who is in his or her final year of a GradDipSci (Computer Science), PGDipSci (Computer Science), BSc (Hons), BTech (IT), BE(SE), BSc/BCom or MSc Degree in Computer Science at The University of Auckland and who demonstrates the greatest potential to become an outstanding professional in the area of Information Technology and Computer Science.
Selection process:
- In making the recommendations the selection committee shall take into account all of the following:
- * previous academic results;
- * technical ability; quality of any academic research;
- * communication skills;
- * team working ability;
- * general contribution to University activities.
- Candidates will be required for an interview.

Decision makers
The Award shall be made by the University Council on the recommendation of a selection committee comprising the Head of the Department of Computer Science (or nominee); the Deputy Head of the Department of Computer Science (or nominee) and a representative from Orion Health.

Approximately six weeks after the closing date by letter or email.
