Disability Services employs note-takers, New Zealand Sign Language interpreters, test writers and lab assistants to provide learning support for students with disabilities.
These positions require experience of the tertiary sector and are not generally available to first-year students. Disability Services requires note-takers to have demonstrable note-taking skills, excellent English communication skills (written and oral) to have a reasonable level of personal academic achievement, and to be able to deliver typed notes in an electronic format
Note-takers are required to provide comprehensive, typed and well-organised notes and must also be reliable.

If you are successful in applying and you have not attended a note-taker training course, we strongly recommend you do so. Courses are run on the second week of each semester. Course attendance hours can be claimed on your timesheet.
