Its name means "horizons of insight" and was given by Professor Sir Hirini Moko Mead. It is symbolic and relates to our Whakataukī about the pursuit of horizons of understanding so we may emerge into the world of light.
The Mira Szaszy Research Centre for Maori and Pacific Economic Development
The Centre is New Zealand's first dedicated Māori and Pacific research facility in business and economics, and exists to enhance the quality of life for Māori, Pacific and other indigenous peoples, their communities, small-to-medium enterprises and nations. Itwas established by The University of Auckland Business School in 1998 in honour of the late Dame Mira's achievements.
