Consortium for Health in Ageing seminar by Merryn Gott.

Many older people will die in hospital; most will experience a hospital admission during the last 12 months of life. However, little previous research has explored mechanisms to optimise palliative care management for older people in this setting. This presentation will draw upon research being conducted in New Zealand and the UK to identify barriers to palliative care management in hospital and consider some potential ‘ways forward’ in improving care.

The Consortium for Health in Ageing is a collaborating group of researchers with common interests. Ngaire Kerse, Martin Connolly, Merryn Gott, Michal Boyd, Harry Rae, Matthew Parsons, Tim Kenealy, Paul Rouse welcome you to the seminar series.

Seminars will be held two monthly and venues will rotate between Tamaki Campus, the Business School and Grafton Campus School of Nursing. Watch for the adverts.
