Dr Jan Cronin, from the English Department at The University of Auckland, talks about her new book, The Frame Function – an engaging ‘inside–out’ guide to Janet Frame’s work for the many readers who are intrigued, stimulated and sometimes baffled by this great writer’s powerful novels.
Jan Cronin is an expert on Irish literature and on the work of New Zealadn writer Janet Frame. A senior lecturer in the Department of English at The University of Auckland, she completed a PhD on Frame’s novels at the University of Leeds in 2004 and co-edited Frameworks: Contemporary Criticism on Janet Frame (2009). Jan Cronin undertook extensive research in Frame archives in the United States and Australia in 2007 and 2008 for her latest book The Frame Function.
