Department of Molecular Medicine and Pathology seminar by Professor Mike Dragunow, Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacology.

Currently there are no effective disease modifying treatments for human neurodegenerative, traumatic or ischemic brain disorders. We have been developing methods for studying and testing treatments for these brain disorders utilizing adult human brain tissue culture, human brain tissue microarray, molecular pharmacology, automated microscopy and high content analysis. This adult human brain drug discovery platform will be described and its application to studying disease causation and drug discovery discussed.
