Department of History seminar by Professor Carla Hesse, Peder Sather Professor of History, University of California, Berkeley.

Professor Hesse is a leading cultural historian of 18th century France and the French Revolution. Her publications have explored topics such as revolutionary print culture, gendered authorship, and the cultural work of law. Professor Hesse has taught at the University of California, Berkeley since 1989 and is Chevalier, Ordre des Palmes Académiques and a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
