Come and experience an unforgettable musical experience, and do a good deed at the same time by supporting the activities of Cancer Society Auckland including cancer research.
The programme of the event consists of two pieces. The total duration will be just over one hour.
The first piece, Piano Trio in G Major (Op. 19), written by French composer Leon Boellmann will be performed by Piano Trio "Pohádka":
Shyam Sankaran - Violin
Brendon Lin - Cello
Petr Tomek - Piano
This French masterwork is full of enchanting melodies, lyricism and unique harmonies evoking fairytales, romanticism and bright colours. In addition, the positive atmosphere and restless pace makes this piece brimming with energy.
It is a travesty that this outstanding work, has not been performed in concert in recent times, thus Trio "Pohádka" is delighted to promote it amongst audiences.
The second piece, the String Quartet No.14 in D minor, composed by Austrian composer Franz Schubert will be performed by the "Rodiana Quartet":
David and John Choi - Violins
Vanessa Tam - Viola
Lisa Chung - Cello
When the tones of this masterwork will begin to echo in the hall you will not be in doubt of the dramatic events about to unfold. Composed as a testament to the composer´s own inevitable death, the composition has extraordinary emotional depth. Epic, tragic and dramatic melodies throughout the composition are an unforgettable experience to listen to.
Ticket price is $10 (door sales) and we are delighted to announce that proceeds will be donated to the Cancer Society Auckland.
