Recruiting students and graduates
Each year, we award around 10,000 degrees in a range of leading professions including business, education, engineering, law, medicine and politics. Our students and graduates are sought after in New Zealand and often internationally.
We maintain relationships with employers in New Zealand and overseas who are looking to recruit full-time graduates into professional roles.
Employers may also work with the University to set up internships, voluntary and other work experience opportunities for current students.
We have a cross-faculty approach to employer recruitment needs. We provide the first port-of-call to identify which faculties may best meet your needs and can help direct employers to the right faculty contacts.
Career Development and Employment Services assists employers wishing to raise their profile within the University and/or recruit students and graduates. We coordinate careers fairs and other employer events that link you face-to-face with students. We run the job vacancy portal NZUniCareerHub, which markets employers’ opportunities directly to relevant students. For more about services to employers, visit Career Development and Employment Services.
The Faculty of Engineering offers a number of services for companies wishing to employ graduate engineers or engineering students for practical work experience/internships. In addition, there are various opportunities for company profiling, networking and student contact in the Faculty throughout the year.
The Business School ASB Careers Centre provides a range of services to companies seeking to engage with and also recruit students for internships or graduate roles from The University of Auckland Business School. We can help companies draft appropriate job descriptions for interns and graduate roles and assist all companies to advertise and target their vacancies.
In addition we provide opportunities for companies to present to our students and promote their organisation and the roles available; contribute to our recruitment skills programme; and act as an intermediary with the various departments and colleagues in the School to ensure you talk to the right people. We run a number of networking events which allow you to meet our students in informal settings and also provide opportunities for companies to sponsor events to raise your profile with our students.
The Careers Centre is located on Level 1 of the Owen G Glenn building.
