“My research is action based and multidisciplinary. The role I play across my PhD research, my half-time job as an Environmental Manager and my consultancy company is to help small to medium sized manufacturing companies to overcome barriers to achieving sustainability.

"My work focuses on environmental sustainability from a product design and manufacturing perspective. This means minimising the environmental impact of a product throughout its lifecycle. Ideally, once products have reached the end of their lifecycle they are recycled back into the production of new products.

"I am passionate about environmental sustainability and I enjoy working with proactive companies and making a difference towards a more sustainable New Zealand. This is a very exciting area and it is extremely satisfying to be involved in transforming companies towards environmentally benign practices.

"Take a multidisciplinary approach and learn beyond your field. Get involved in practical industry based projects.”
