Calculate your EFTS consumption
A guide to calculating your EFTS consumption while studying at The University of Auckland.
EFTS is an acronym that stands for Equivalent Fulltime Student. The EFTS value given to course enrolments indicates how much of a fulltime course of study that particular course is expected to require.
If you would like to know how many EFTS you have consumed over a period of time, you can do this in two easy steps:
- View your unofficial transcript on Student Services Online to see how many points you were enrolled in for the period of time you are checking. See How to view your unofficial transcript.
- Convert the points you were enrolled in to EFTS according to the table below:
| University of Auckland points | EFTS value |
|---|---|
| 10 points | 0.0833 EFTS |
| 15 points | 0.1250 EFTS |
| 20 points | 0.1667 EFTS |
| 30 points | 0.2500 EFTS |
| 60 points | 0.5000 EFTS |
| 120 points | 1.0000 EFTS |
These points conversions cover most courses offered at The University of Auckland. There may, however, be some exceptions for masters research course extension and PhD thesis enrolments.
If you have any questions about the EFTS value of your masters extension or PhD thesis enrolment, please contact the University on +64 9 373 7599 ext 84422 or complete the Student Financials Enquiry Form.
