Student loans and allowances
Both student loans and student allowances are administered through StudyLink, a division of the Ministry of Social Development. The University of Auckland's only official involvement with student loans and student allowances is to provide your enrolment and/or fee information to StudyLink so they can assess your eligibility.

In the 2012 budget, the government announced changes to student loans and allowances.
If you have a student loan, the Student Loan Scheme Act 2011 will make it easier for you to manage your loan and keep on top of your repayments. If you’re a full-time student, you may qualify for a repayment deduction exemption.
