Financial assistance
If you enrol in a New Start course you will not be eligible for a student loan or allowance. However, you may want to consider other ways of financing your study through the following options.
New Start offers limited financial assistance with fees to assist potential students who wish to enrol in New Start at The University of Auckland. Applications are available from the the University of Auckland Scholarships Office.
Application closing dates:
- Semester One - 30 January
- Semester Two - 30 June

These Bursaries were established in 2009 and are funded by The University of Auckland Faculty of Arts. The Bursaries intend to encourage Ngāti Whātua O Ōrakei students to complete the New Start programme with the intention of studying for a BA in The Faculty of Arts. Applications can be made to The University of Auckland Scholarships Office on 30 September in the year preceeding the year of the award.

A fee assistance scheme was established in 2009 and is funded by New Start, Centre for Continuing Education. There are a limited number of places offered to students. Students who apply for this scheme may be required to provide administration assistance during the semester programme. Application forms are available from the New Start Programme Manager.
Application closing dates:

- Semester Two - 30 June
