Proof of age - HANZ 18+ card

The HANZ 18+ card is useful in any situation where you need to prove your age, such as when buying alcohol. It is ideal for students who don't have a New Zealand driver’s licence and don't want to carry their passports around.

You can apply for a HANZ card at New Zealand Post Shops; the cost is $20. You will need to show your passport and supply a recent photo of yourself.

Note: The University Post Shop on the City Campus does not process 18+ cards.
