Cost of Attendance Appeal (Professional Judgement)

Students may apply for a cost of attendance adjustment based on additional expenses. Additional expenses must be directly related to the cost of your education.

These applications will be determined by professional judgment and will only be considered based on one of the following criteria:
 

Grounds for appeal
  • Challenge of status as a dependent student. 
  • Dependant care. 
  • Excessive educational expenses.

Cost of Attendance appeals for the following (but not limited to) will not be taken into consideration.

  • Purchase or down payment of a vehicle. 
  • Cell phones. 
  • Clothing. 
  • Holidays. 
  • Satellite television. 
  • Furniture.

Decisions on Cost of Attendance appeals are at the discretion of the US Financial Aid Director or the Director International Office, and their decisions are final.

If you submit an appeal for Cost of Attendance you will be notified of the outcome in writing (by email) within 10 days of making the request.
 

Applying for a Cost of Attendance Appeal (Professional Judgement)

If you wish to submit a Cost of Attendance appeal, you need to do so in writing to the following:

All appeals must include supporting documentation such as, but not limited to, receipts, travel logs approved by dean of faculty or representative which support the applications for Cost of Attendance appeal; only applications submitted with supporting evidence will be considered.
