A welcome message for parents
Going to university is a big step for any new student. If you are a parent or guardian, it can be a challenging experience for you too. The University of Auckland recognises your vital supporting role and welcomes you as part of the University community.
When you invest in university education you want to be sure that you have made the right decision. Our international leadership and ranking, stimulating academic and social environment and career outcomes are just a few of the reasons students and their families choose the University of Auckland.
Campus tours are available throughout the year so that you can visit to see the facilities and resources available for students.
Courses and Careers Day is an ideal opportunity to experience university life. Parents, guardians and caregivers are very welcome at the lectures, tours and events, and you can also meet university staff.
We provide a great deal of support for students. Each faculty has a Student Centre where current or future students and their families can seek advice about programmes of study, enrolment or career opportunities. The Student Learning Centre will help any student experiencing difficulty with aspects of their study. In addition there are group study areas, ample spaces for individual study and access to computers and library resources throughout the campus.
Information about accommodation, finance, career prospects, student support and many other aspects of University life are available on this site.
We are committed to making the learning experience enjoyable and successful for our students. We acknowledge the very important part parents and guardians play in the lives of our students and look forward to welcoming you to The University of Auckland.
