Exchange students can't take the following courses/programmes:

  • Entrepreneurship Courses (EN1xxx)
  • National Institute of Education (NIE) Core and Prescibed Electives Courses (only General Electives are open to exchange students)
  • Nanyang Business School Undergraduate Programmes:

  • Language elective courses are not open to Postgraduate (PG) exchange students

Course load
Students may take a maximum of 20 AUs (approximately 4-5 courses) per semester, although at least ten (10) courses need to be selected at the application stage for approval at NTU. Approved courses may later be dropped during the add/drop period.

Accommodation

On-campus accommodation is not be guaranteed to exchange students. Students must be prepared to live off-campus should their application for on-campus accommodation be unsuccessful.
Students only apply for on-campus accommodation after they've received their E-Acceptance Package.

Visas

All international students who have been accepted and offered a place as a full-time matriculated or registered student are required to hold a valid Student’s Pass issued by the Singapore Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).

Accepted Exchange students shall be notified via their E-Acceptance package from NTU on the student pass application procedures.

An Entry Visa is required of international students from some countries for entry into Singapore.
If you require a visa to enter Singapore, it will be incorporated in the IPA letter. You need not apply for a separate visa and may enter Singapore by producing the IPA letter at the immigration checkpoints.

Medical insurance

It is mandatory for all international students in NTU to participate in the Group Hospitalisation & Surgical Insurance (GHSI) Scheme. This also applies to international students on exchange programme or short-term project even if you have an existing insurance policy in your home country. The premium is S$39.50 per semester and payable at ISC on your arrival.

Funding and scholarships

A number of scholarships and grants are available for University of Auckland students participating in the Auckland Abroad exchange programme. This includes an Auckland Abroad Special Grant for students accepted to NTU for Semester Two 2011 or Semester One 2012.
