Admission restrictions: Some courses last for the full year, this prohibits mid-year admission. UBC makes application decisions for applied sciences after the 1 April deadline for both September or January admission. This makes mid-academic year entry difficult.

Course load: varies depending on the faculty and degree program. The average UBC degree-student registers in 15 credits per term, but some science and engineering students register in 18-20 credits per term. It is recommended that students register in 12 -15 credits per term.
Orientation happens in the week prior to the start of classes.

Most exchange students at UBC choose to live in one of the furnished student residences on campus. Priority will be given for a room in selected on-campus residences provided that the housing application is completed and submit the $50 non-refundable application fee in Canadian funds by the exchange application deadline. If you are studying at UBC for two terms, it is not possible to live in residence for only one of those two terms.
