The university

Located in northwest Calgary, the University of Calgary campus occupies a beautiful, park-like setting covering more than 200 hectares, or an area larger than Calgary’s entire downtown.

More than 28,000 students are currently enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and professional degree programs. The university has graduated 120,000 alumni over its 40-year history, including the current Prime Minister of Canada.

Calgary’s high-quality undergraduate education is characterized by the synthesis of research, teaching and learning. The university aims to enhance students’ experience by enabling them to take an inquiry-based approach through experiential learning - literally learning through experience.

The city of Calgary

Calgary is a vibrant city that offers the best of all worlds - a cosmopolitan city of nearly one million with outstanding outdoor adventure and pristine wilderness only an hour away in the Canadian Rockies.

Each year, visitors find a wealth of cultural attractions, diverse restaurants, award-winning cuisine, clubs, parks and specialty shops in Calgary. Sporting opportunities are limitless because the moderate climate beckons year-round outdoor enthusiasts to golf or hike, fish or mountain bike, ski or dog-sled.

Shopping is a paradise, being the only province in Canada with no provincial sales tax.

The dynamic arts scene gives its culture an attractive perspective, and its western heritage and legendary hospitality makes anyone feel welcome
