Undergraduate scholarships

  • University of Auckland Academic Potential Scholarships
    Supports students who have achieved academically, but are experiencing hardships that potentially limit their opportunities or who may have been disadvantaged due to their personal circumstances. Value: $6,000 to $20,000 over three years.
  • Tuākana Scholarships for Māori and Pacific students
    Supports Māori and Pacific students enrolled in final year of an undergraduate degree who have achieved a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 or higher, have demonstrated participation in the Tuākana programme, and who intend to pursue a postgraduate degree. Value: $2,500.

Guaranteed postgraduate scholarships

Guaranteed scholarships are available to support high-achieving students.

  • University of Auckland Doctoral Scholarships
    Māori and domestic Pacific students with a GPA of 7.5 or above will be guaranteed a scholarship. Domestic and international candidates with a GPA (or equivalent) of 7.0 or above will also be considered for a scholarship.

Tips for applicants

  • When you're searching for scholarships, try using search terms with and without macrons, eg, "Māori" and "Maori", "Ngāti Whātua" and "Ngati Whatua".
  • Register with your iwi in order to apply for iwi scholarships on offer.
  • The Equity Office can verify your scholarship application. Make an appointment with one of our staff members
