New Online Orientation

06 January 2015

The University of Auckland has been hard at work preparing for the launch of Online Orientation on 15 December. Online Orientation has been designed to provide information for new undergraduate students so they feel well prepared for their time at the University. Information in the Online Orientation modules will complement that which they receive at their faculty Orientation – this will be a one day session for most students in 2015.

Online Orientation has six modules on student life on campus, support services, tips on how to be successful and maintain a good study/life balance as well as key faculty information.

Topics covered include:

  • Academic preparation (for example, tips on managing your course readings)
  • Accommodation/living in Auckland and New Zealand
  • Faculty-specific insights, support services, events and information
  • Interactive campus maps
  • Getting involved in clubs and student associations
  • Budgeting and money matters
  • Student essentials such as getting a Student ID, accessing CECIL and logging onto student email
  • UniGuide Programme and mentor support
  • Information on Sport and Recreation Centre, Health and Counselling Service, social events and much more!
