Computing Equipment Procurement Guidelines


Fitness for purpose
  • User profiles and recommended standard computing equipment below should be used to determine the most appropriate, minimum number of computing devices per User
  • Where Standard computing equipment does not meet IT users computing requirements, an exception for non-standard equipment must been justified and approved by the  applicable Financial Delegated Authority prior to purchase
  • All IT users must receive computing equipment that ensures they will be fully productive at all times
  • IT users should refer to the Computing Equipment Procurement Standard for details of responsibilities under the Standard and Guidelines

*Establishment of a small loan pool of tablets and/or laptops may be cost effective in some faculties to support IT users with occasional mobile computing requirements.
