Winter sign ups underway

17 July 2013

Help Green Our Uni volunteers have begun the recruitment drive to make the start of Orientation and the start of the second semester.

Almost 30 HGOU volunteers have put their names forward to help man the stall and speak with new and returning students, over the next week.

“The second semester is usually the quieter of the two semester orientations but there’s always a good uptake of new members to Help Green Our Uni,” says Lexie Sandano, Assistant to the Sustainability and Environment Programme, who is hopeful of previous trends of 350 new recruits continue for 2013.

The Help Green Our Uni stall will be based outside the General Library, from Wednesday 17 to Friday 19 July, before moving to the Quad, for the start of the new term.

Those interested in sustainability can talk with volunteers, sign up for the group, or find out what activities the group gets involved in, such as audits, tree plantings, and film screenings, to help the University reduce its carbon footprint.
