Amnesty International is a global human rights organisation that mobilises over 7 million people in 150 countries to oppose human rights violations. Our club works closely with the New Zealand head office to host fun and informative events on campus that engage university students with Amnesty's campaigns. Oxfam on Campus

Oxfam

Oxfam on Campus is concerned with the social injustices in the world that leave billions of people living in extreme poverty, unable to receive a decent amount of food, clean water, shelter and suffering from diseases such as AIDs and malaria. The group's goals are to educate and inform students about getting involved in Oxfam though campaigns such as Make Trade Fair and Make Poverty History. At the moment, Oxfam on Campus is campaigning to make the University a Fair Trade University.

UoA Fair Trade Club

The Fair Trade Club aims to raise the profile of fair trade among university students. Through the principles of fair trade, including paying a fair price, opposing child or forced labour, and respecting the environment, we believe we can create a more just world. Among our recent activities, we have teamed-up with Rotoract University of Auckland to plant trees at Motuihe Island, and have held a Fair Trade High Tea and Fair Trade Bake-Off Competition.
