University of Auckland alumni based in Germany can connect with our Volunteer Alumni Coordinator there, Christine Seagar.
VAC Profile: Christine Seagar (Master of Arts)
Christine finished her postgraduate studies at the University in 2012 and graduated with a Master of Arts in Sociology. She spent four years living and working in New Zealand before deciding to return home to Germany.
Christine now lives in Munich with her Kiwi husband. She works as a Senior Recruitment Specialist at CHECK24, which is Germany’s largest online price comparison portal. In the future, she sees herself either furthering her career in recruitment or returning to Auckland to do a PhD.
“I always had a strong love for academia and sociology but also for recruitment and I will forever alternate between those two,” Christine says. “In both worlds one looks beyond the obvious. Both sides appeal to my inquisitive nature as I am endlessly interested in what people do.”
She describes Munich as a great place to be. “It’s a beautiful city close to the Alps and lakes with international flair. I love that travelling is easy and I like being close to my family.”
Christine believes that current students should take advantage of opportunities while at University. “Use the services and networks the University offers and conquer the world through your passion, talent and hard work,” she advises.
Christine is keen to hear from alumni based in Germany.
