The SGM will be followed by the Society AGM from 4.30 to 5.00 pm. At 5.00 pm we will move into our annual Christmas Party where we warmly invite you to reconnect with other members and welcome the festive season with entertainment, nibbles and drinks.

Entertainment on the night includes:

Three Minute Thesis presentations

Once again the Society supported the Three Minute Thesis competition this year. This engaging competition gives students just three minutes to explain their thesis and is run in universities worldwide. We are delighted to welcome two of this year's winners:

Doctoral winner and People’s Choice winner - Cam Hoffbeck: The tuatara microbiome: environmental influences and conservation implications.

Doctoral Runner-up - Anantha Narayanan: Music and the Operating Surgeon.

There will be a chance to ask Cam and Anantha questions about their research after their presentations.

Austellus Vocal Ensemble

We'll be treated to a quartet performance by members of Austellus Vocal Ensemble, a group made up of current UoA students and alumni, who will include some Christmas carols in their performance to get us in the festive mood.
