Help protect our native flora and fauna
The forest environment and bird habitats of Oropi, Tauranga and Bay of Plenty need your help.
Otanewainuku Kiwi Trust manages the Pest Control in part of the Otanewainuku Forest. They help eradicate pests to protect the native species living in the forest including North Island Brown Kiwi and Kokako. Workday Helpers are required at general workdays (usually weekends) or you could be a part of the Salted Rabbit Processing team (weekdays). A good level of fitness is required as some of the terrain in the forest can be steep. Strong sturdy footwear (no sandals), warm clothing, food and drink is required as part of your PPE. No experience necessary as you learn on the job. A sausage sizzle is provided at the end of the workday (forest) when able.
