Volunteer Wellington includes Volunteer Hutt and Volunteer Porirua and works as a community connector, strengthening communities across the region through connecting over 380 community organisations. Their three offices work to connect volunteers with a diverse range of volunteer roles – from administration, animal welfare/habitat, arts, communications, education, environment, practical needs, recreation, retail/charity shops, special needs, youth and more – you will find something that matches your skills and passion!

One such role is a Café Manager/Administrator:

Porirua has a vibrant community cafe. It's a peaceful place to meet friends, have a cup of tea and find a listening ear. They need a manager who will oversee the operations of the cafe. This includes organising volunteers, managing a booking system, arranging for maintenance of the facilities, working with a marketing volunteer to create and implement a marketing plan and ensuring bills get paid and community needs are being met. The manager will be sensitive to people from a wide range of backgrounds and have empathy and self-motivation.  The role will take about 10 hours per week, spread across the days the cafe is open - M, W, Th & Sat.
