Description

This project, led by Dr Lara Greaves, lecturer in Politics and International Relations at the University of Auckland, seeks to explore differences between Māori in cultural connection and knowledge, mainly focusing on those who do not know their Iwi, but also including other combinations of descent, ethnicity, and Iwi affiliation.

This research links these different combinations of identities to health and social service access in the Statistics New Zealand Integrated Data Infrastructure. The research is focused on diversity within Māori groups, and seeks to illuminate potential differences within Māori in cultural connection and access to health and social services.
