Toroa Programme

Toroa, the Māori name for Albatross, is the bird that inspired the design of the Sir Owen G Glenn Building.

The Toroa programme empowers and enables our Māori and Pacific students and helps equip them with the skills and confidence to be employable students. The programme is anchored in cultural identity with career and recruitment plans. It aims to build both skillsets and confidence so that you are recruitment ready.

Over the course of Semester Two, you will participate in career workshops and engage with industry. There is strong industry representation which will give you greater insights into what the ‘all rounder’ student leader looks like.

You will also set a personal development plan, which will help you establish the key competencies to develop and align with your career goals and personal values. This will be reviewed throughout the programme during the one-on-one coaching sessions.
