International mentor Tahee Kim

My name is Tahee Kim and I am a third year student currently studying a Bachelor of Music at the University of Auckland.

I’m majoring in a classical performance on cello. I started learning the cello when I was 10 years old and I plan on studying a masters and PhD in music.

I was born in New Zealand, but I am of South Korean descent. I wanted to study music because of the way music was able to speak to many different people, young and old. Furthermore, I love the adrenaline from performing.

Music requires great concentration and repetition when practising and I love when what I’ve practiced works in performance. I would love to further the music society in New Zealand and share my knowledge of music with future generations.

The International Mentor Programme allows experienced students to assist those who are new and in need of assistance. I have a passion for helping out international and exchange students so I hope I can help you out!

I hope the interactions made through this programme are able to last a lifetime.

I hope to help you during your studies!
