The relationship between CCRE and Family Success Matters (FSM) was formed two years ago after the organisation established a research/evaluation position.

FSM is a Social Service organisation of 60 staff (social workers, supervisors, senior management) providing programmes in South Auckland/Franklin for families with high needs to ensure vulnerable children have the best possible start in life. The focus of FSMs 45 qualified social workers, (supported by senior management and supervisors), is on achieving outcomes for infants and children by working with their families. The key programme, Family Start, is a national programme funded by MSD and provides intensive home visiting from pregnancy through to three years for families with high needs.

As an NGO moving into the area of research/evaluation, the partnership with CCRE has provided invaluable support, through workshops and mentoring. Currently FSM is involved in two research projects – a longitudinal study with Camorra Research and an Alcohol Harm Minimisation Project with Counties Manukau Health – and is in discussion with CCRE around a research project for its Fathers Programme.
