Gina White - Intermediate school teacher

The Woolf Fisher Trust Postgraduate Scholarship is funding Gina’s Postgraduate Certificate in Education, allowing her to keep improving her practice, learn more about herself and brainstorm with like-minded teachers.

“I became a teacher because I wanted to do more with my life. I needed to find my passion and remembering some of the great teachers and principals I’ve had in my life, I quickly realised I wanted to work with children.

“I began to enjoy Maths while studying my Bachelor of Education (Teaching), thanks to the amazing lecturers that I had. I think it’s important for teachers to always keep improving their practice, so when I received an email about the Woolf Fisher Trust Postgraduate Scholarship offering an opportunity to fund the Postgraduate Certificate in Education, I knew I had to apply.

“The Woolf Fisher Trust Postgraduate Scholarship was the first scholarship I ever received, and it means so much to me because I wouldn’t be doing postgraduate study.

I’ve already used some of the activities I’ve learnt in the programme in my classroom and the children have loved it.

I’ve learnt a lot about myself as a learner and as a teacher in this great learning environment. It’s been great to meet other like-minded teachers who I can brainstorm with.

“My advice to anyone considering applying for the Woolf Fisher Trust Postgraduate Scholarship is just give it a go! I’m so thankful I made the decision to apply because it has been such an enjoyable experience.”
