“I am passionate about women’s development and leadership. This is what I really want to be part of.

“This programme has been tailored so we can fit it to suit our own needs and interest areas. This is one of the main reasons I chose it.

“I have really enjoyed meeting so many people from such different careers. Often in a job or programme, it’s all very similar people with similar journeys. In this programme, everyone is on unique journeys coming from and going in different directions. It makes it really interesting.

“I’d been working as a secondary school History teacher in New Zealand and Australia before starting this masters degree. I feel what I’m learning will help me to transition into a field I have little experience in and will enable me to pursue my career goal by developing my skills to lead people and lead innovation.

“Looking forward, I would love to get an internship in Africa for a few months, and then come back to New Zealand and work in the not-for-profit sector.

“Taking action to move my career in a new direction is exciting and also makes me nervous. But my advice to anyone is ‘Do it. Be brave, be bold’.”
