Amber Robins - Bachelor of Education (Teaching) Early Childhood Education
Studying to become an early childhood educator is one of the best decisions Amber Robins has ever made.
“I was one of the older ones in my cohort, starting my degree at 24 years old, I had been working in an office as an administrator and just felt like I needed to do more with my life. I absolutely love children so the choice to be an early childhood teacher was pretty easy. It was the best decision I have ever made.
"I thought we had a really good range of classes, it was really comprehensive and I found all of my lecturers and tutors were really helpful. I have kept contact with a couple of my lecturers and enjoy being able to bounce ideas off them or go to them for support.
Being a full-time study course you end up making really strong bonds with your peers from seeing them every day. Through my degree I gained some really amazing lifelong friends."
It is amazing how much I learnt over the three years and it wasn’t until my last year that I sort of realised just how much I had learned and how it all linked together.
"Since working full time I have been able to pull upon so many different ideas from my studies and this has given me so much confidence in my role as a teacher.
"I love the fact that every day I go to work smiling and on the weekends I actually look forward to going back to work. I have the opportunity to make such a big difference in so many little peoples’ lives and it truly is such a rewarding career.”
