Ashleigh Foley (Te Rarawa) Bachelor of Sport, Health and Physical Education
A passion for sports from an early age means the Bachelor of Sport, Health and Physical Education is a good match for Ashleigh Foley's career ambitions.
“I've always had a passion for sport growing up. I saw the importance in what I was learning at school and knew that exploring further throughout tertiary education could provide me with the knowledge needed to design a career path that would be passion-driven.
“I like the BSportHPE degree because it covers topics that resonate with me and also it's helping me to design a career in my future that I will enjoy and be passionate about. It's hard to find a job that will pull you out of bed every single morning but the career I'm designing for myself is pulling on my passion for sports, helping others, teaching children and health education to create a career that will be rewarding and potentially life-changing for some children."
It's helping me to design a career in my future that I will be passionate about.
“My degree has helped me a lot with the planning and structuring side of my lessons that I take with the kids. Also, my degree has made me more aware of how I present myself so that I make sure that what I am doing is beneficial andpositive for the classes learning and development.
“This will help me achieve my goal of creating a primary-level health education programme that focuses on building good habits around all dimensions of health such as physical health through being active, nutrition and holistic health.”
