Investigating factors influencing young people’s use of hearing protection in nightclubs

Do you want to contribute to science while dancing the night away? We are looking for young adults to take part in our research on the effects that different interventions may have on deciding whether to use earplugs in nightclubs.

What's involved?

This study involves 60 minutes of your time and a visit to a nightclub*. You will be provided with free earplugs and learn how to use a sound level measuring app on your phone.

  • Phase 1: 5 minutes questionnaire
  • Phase 2: 30-minute zoom with the student researcher (to show intervention and complete post-intervention questionnaire)
  • Phase 3: Post-clubbing questionnaire

Participants can enter the draw to win one of three $100 supermarket vouchers.

Please note: Participants will only be required to go clubbing if Covid-19 regulations allow it.

  • Be 18-30 years of age
