Personalised feedback and sugar consumption

We are recruiting 200 adults interested in screening their daily sugar consumption for a study that investigates whether personalised feedback can lead to sugar reduction.

What's involved?

This study is a randomised controlled trial with two treatment arms. Participation involves completing two brief online questionnaires, one after joining the study, and the other 30 days later. Completing both questionnaires will take a total of 20 minutes.

To complete the two online brief questionnaires, you will:

  • Answer a series of questions related to your demographic details (such as age, gender, ethnicity etc.)
  • Answer a series of questions relating to your frequency of intake of sugary products over the last month
  • Answer a series of questions related to your mental wellbeing, ability to resist sugary products and cravings for sugary products
  • Provide your contact details to be sent a link to the follow-up questionnaire after 30-days
  • Receive results providing you with your sugar consumption, mental wellbeing, confidence to resist sugary products and sugar craving scores

All participant responses will be kept confidential outside of the research team and your data will be stored on a password protected University of Auckland server. Your responses will also be de-identified, meaning none of your personal information will be linked to any results we report.

Participants who complete both questionnaires can elect to enter the draw to win one of ten $50 Countdown gift cards.
