  • Working with text in formulas - concatenating or adding text, and separating text
  • Date functions including calculating due dates and ages
  • Using logical and error checking functions such as IF and IFERROR
  • Dealing with academic results using VLOOKUP and RANK functions
  • Summarising data with the SUMIF and COUNTIF functions
  • Calculating interest earned or paid using financial functions
  • Rounding and random number generation
  • Array formulas

Objectives

  • Be able to use mixed or absolute cell references and range names in formulas confidently
  • Insert a variety of worksheet functions from most categories
  • Understand how to 'nest' functions

Suitable for

This is an advanced level workshop which is suitable for those who have completed the prerequisite or who are competent with the topics covered in that workshop. Before registering for this workshop, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are competent with the topics covered in the prerequisite workshop. 

Notes

PC and Mac computers are available on a first come, first served basis. Excel 2013 is used. Also suitable for 2010 users.
