Programme deletion

Deleting a programme removes reference to a degree, diploma or certificate you have not started studying and wish to delete from your record.

You can apply for a programme deletion if you:

  • Have accepted an offer into a programme you no longer wish to study
  • Are not currently enrolled in any courses for the programme

You must submit your request before the enrolment deadline, this is usually the second Friday of your starting Semester or Quarter.

To find the enrolment deadline for your starting Semester or Quarter and how to drop your courses, visit When to enrol and changing  your enrolment.

Please note, if you have not dropped your course enrolments, you will be liable for fees.

How to delete a programme

  1. Log into SSO by visiting Student Services Online.
  2. Go to the 'Academic Data' tile on your homepage
  3. Open the 'Programme Update Request' tab
  4. Select the programme you wish to delete and follow the instructions on screen.

If you are unable to complete a programme deletion request through SSO, you can submit a request by emailing records@auckland.ac.nz.

Include in your email:

  • Full name
  • Student ID/Username
  • Programme to be deleted
  • Withdrawal/deletion reason

You will receive an email confirming the deletion of your programme once processed.

Deleting a programme after deadline request

If you are not enrolled into any courses and your application is received after the deadline for changing your enrolment, the programme will be discontinued and will remain on your academic record.

A programme cannot be deleted or discontinued if you are currently enrolled in courses.
