Ellen Castle Undergraduate Scholarship in the Schools of Humanities and Social Sciences

A Scholarship of up to $5,000pa for up to 3 years for a New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Resident, who attended a school with a high Equity Index number or decile 1-4 New Zealand secondary school who is planning to enrol in a BA in either the School of Humanities or School of Social Sciences.

The Scholarship was established in 2014 and is funded by Emeritus Professor Raewyn Dalziel in memory of her mother, Ellen Castle, who supported her aim to go to university, and to recognise the benefits of an Arts education for both students and the wider community.

The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist school leavers from schools with a high Equity Index number or decile 1-4 schools who have the potential to succeed at university and require financial assistance to undertake a Bachelor of Arts in the Schools of Humanities and/or Social Sciences at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland.
