About the committee
The Health, Safety and Wellbeing Committee provides a forum for nominated and elected academic and professional staff representatives to communicate with management on health and safety issues.
The aim of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Committee is to:
- Provide a forum of nominated or elected management and staff representatives, endorsed by staff, to enable staff to communicate with management on issues of interest and concern related to health, safety, and wellbeing, and to encourage staff participation in the ongoing maintenance and improvement of a safe and healthy environment
- Review emergency preparedness – civil defence facilities, training and provision of evacuation wardens and first aiders
- Plan and monitor the annual hazard review exercise and ongoing hazard management issues
- Advise management on improving health and safety within the Sir Owen G Glenn Building.
