Marketing and Communications
The Business School's in-house Marketing and Communications team can help you with marketing direction, planning, design, print and e-marketing. We also maintain and update the Business School's websites.
Services and timeframes
The Marketing and Communications team can assist you with a range of marketing services.
- Please note that lead times vary for each project, with some requiring up to six weeks' lead time.
- As the University of Auckland has undergone a brand refresh, the production of marketing collaterals may take longer than usual. We appreciate your understanding and patience during this period of transition.
We offer support with the following:
Print (allow at least 4-6 weeks' lead time, dependent on project)
- Brochures
- Flyers
- Posters
- Pull-up banners
- Handbooks.
Web/digital (allow at least 2 weeks' lead time, dependent on project)

- Creating business cards (please contact your Group Services Coordinator for assistance).
Web edits and updates
The Business School Marketing Team are the main publishers for all content on both the Business School website and the Business School Intranet.
- For straightforward web updates or edits on the Business School website or Intranet, you do not need to submit a marketing brief.
- To request an edit on the Business School website or Intranet, please email us at bizmarketing@auckland.ac.nz with the webpage URL and clear instructions about the changes required.
- Two of the best ways to supply edits are by using tracked changes on a Word doc, or comments on a PDF.
- The expected lead time for most web edit requests is two weeks.
- While we are the publishers of the content, each website section has its own business owner and contact person who is responsible for regularly reviewing their pages and ensuring the content is up-to-date.
Marketing briefing process
If you would like support from the Marketing and Communications team, please submit a Marketing brief.
Please note the following before you submit your brief:
- For large-scope projects, printed materials and event collateral, you need to submit your brief at least 6 weeks in advance. This ensures enough time to coordinate event logistics and marketing materials.
- The expected lead time is at least 2 weeks for most jobs. Please get in touch early to avoid work being outsourced at extra cost.
- Straightforward web updates or edits do not require a Marketing brief. Simply email bizmarketing@auckland.ac.nz with the URL and the changes requested (see Web Edits and Updates section above).
- If you would like any advice or guidance before submitting a brief, please contact our team at bizmarketing@auckland.ac.nz.
Media and public relations
Keep us informed! Tell us about your involvement in external projects, your achievements and successes, and any developments in your careers so we can share these with your peers, colleagues and the wider community.
- Contact the Business School media adviser, Sophie Boladeras, if you have recent research, an opinion piece idea or other news you would like to share further afield.
Social media
We manage Business School social media channels, sharing the success of our staff, students and alumni and keeping the University and wider community informed of the latest news, events and opportunities. If you have information you would like to share on our channels, please contact our team at bizmarketing@auckland.ac.nz.
Photography
Staff are able to arrange photoshoots directly without the support of the Marketing and Communications team.
- The University provides a list of approved photographers and general guidance around organising photoshoots.
- Please note that permission is required to film or take photos in the Sir Owen G Glenn Building (OGGB).
- Contact Business School Reception for any queries around filming or photography in the Sir Owen G Glenn Building.
Logos, fonts, templates and other branded assets
Staff are able to download logos, fonts, templates and other branded assets directly without the support of the Marketing and Communications team.
- Following the University of Auckland brand refresh, the University has provided logos, fonts, templates and other branded assets for staff to use.
- The Brand Guidelines Style Guide offers guidance on how to use the UoA brand.
Event planning
Event planning support at the Business School is the responsibility of the Business School Events team.
- The Business School Events team assists with events ranging from important occasions to smaller events and activities.
- If you wish to host an event, visit the Events webpage for all the information you need about the Events briefing process, key contacts and more.
