Information about TechSite and facilities services at the Business School.

About TechSite Services 

The mission of TechSite Services is to provide exceptional teaching technology, facilities, and special project management solutions to the Business School and its various communities.

Our vision is to ensure campus environments are safe, functional, and supportive of teaching, learning, research, and community activities. The team manages OGGB building operations, maintenance, space planning, and health and safety compliance, as well as event support, including the coordination of cleaning and security to maintain a high-quality, sustainable, and welcoming campus environment that enables the University to achieve its strategic goals.

Access to OGGB and security

The Sir Owen G Glenn Building operating hours are from 7 am to 06:30 pm, Monday to Friday.

In accordance with the staff Health, Safety and Wellbeing policy, building access between 11:30 pm and 6 am is not permitted.

Please complete the Restricted Hours Approval Form and obtain approval from the Director of Faculty Operations or the Facilities and Services Manager for any exceptions.

Campus Cards and room keys

Access to the OGGB is provided to all eligible staff, PhD and other PG students through the Campus Card. For more information and to obtain your card, visit the Campus Card webpage.

Once you have obtained your Campus Card, please contact your Group Services Coordinator to request building access.

Keys: Please contact your Group Services Coordinator to request a new key to your office.

Campus Security

The OGGB and University grounds are patrolled 24 hours a day by Campus Security officers.

Teaching technology support

The TechSite team manages and supports teaching facilities in OGGB. This includes Audio-visual (AV) and classroom technology assistance for labs, lecture theatres, and seminar rooms.

  • Operating hours: Monday–Friday 7 am–9 pm | Saturday 8 am–4 pm  
  • Urgent support (OGGB rooms): ext. 89000     
  • Non‑urgent: submit a request through TechSite's service portal

Room bookings and venue services

Staff can book rooms using the Resource booker directly. For venue support and queries, please email be-roombookings@auckland.ac.nz.

Escreens

The TechSite team manages all display screens in the building. Staff can advertise programmes and events on these screens. Please contact Business school Marketing and Communications team to create your slides. Once the slides are ready fill out the OGGB eScreen Display Request Form.

Directional slides for events

There are dedicated screens by Level 1 Reception and the top of the Atrium stairs to direct visitors, staff and students to various special events taking place daily. Events managed by the Business School Events Team will automatically be included on the directional screens. Events not managed by the Events Team can still be displayed. Direct requests to Reception at receptionoggb@uoa.auckland.ac.nz. Please sprovide at least one week's notice.

Lift decals

The carpark lifts in the Sir Owen G Glenn are a valuable communication channel and a highly sought-after space for advertising to students. To make a booking to display a decal, fill out the OGGB Lift Decal Request Form.

Filming and photography on premises

Filming or professional photography in OGGB requires prior approval. If you intend to use a professional photographer or film maker, please complete the OGGB filming/photography licence agreement.

The completed form is to be emailed to BE-RoomBookings@auckland.ac.nz and requires sign-off by the Facilities and Services Manager (or a delegate).

Note about flying drones: Given that the University is within 4km of uncontrolled airfields, all unmanned aerial vehicle operators must follow CAA flying rules. Find out more from the University Knowledge Base.

Dedicated OGGB spaces

Toroa Collab Lounge: Level 3, Room 260-301

The Staff Collaboration Space on Level 3, also known as Toroa Collab Lounge, is a great location to foster collegial engagement among our staff and visitors from diverse sectors, including the business community, government and other communities. It aims to foster a stronger and more inclusive staff culture within the Business School by encouraging engagement and developing relationships across disciplines and teams.

Social bridges

The social bridges situated on Levels 3, 4, 5 and 6 are another great location for small staff gatherings. These are generally open to all staff to have their meals / tea without booking. Staff can book these spaces through their Group Services team for functions of up to 40 people.

Barry Spicer Media Room: Level 2, Room 260-006

The Barry Spicer Media Room is a user-friendly space staff can use for producing great-looking videos with little or no prior experience. It is intended for developing teaching and learning video resources for internal use within the University. This room is bookable via the Resource booker.

Decima Glenn Room: Level 3, Room 310

The room is named after Sir Owen Glenn’s mother, Decima Glenn. It is a multi-functional room that can accommodate different styles and capacities. It can also host video conferences via Zoom, and catering is available in this room.
